Nomura Research Institute Hong Kong Limited (NRI Hong Kong) was established in January 1976 as a research and systems support location for Nomura Securities and launched the group’s systems services in China and the Asian region.
Providing global supply chain management (GSCM) service and NRI Global SCM Solutions, which is developed and operated as an independent service with a customer support team based not only in Hong Kong but across Asia, and is anticipated to grow further in the future.

Business Outline

One of the business enterprises which maintain the success of NRI Hong Kong is its GSCM service under global systems services division. With the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) package as its central feature but also provides surrounding systems such as barcode solutions, production scheduling, BI, supply chain management support systems etc., the GSCM service is a solution covering system demands of overseas offices/factories of Japanese-owned companies, including support for mission-critical tasks and sharing of information between various business locations. It serves a wide range of industry types and categories and has been introduced at more than 140 sites all around Asia regions since 1996.

NRI Hong Kong offers its GSCM service as a comprehensive solution for Japanese-owned companies covering everything from setup consulting to development and operations, and provides a support framework across Hong Kong and other major areas of Asia.

The strengths of the GSCM service offered by NRI Hong Kong are that it takes into account the needs, and market characteristics of the local area, and is offered as a cloud service provided by a data center operated by NRI Hong Kong, rather than on an outright sales basis with no operational support.
In Asian region, there are significant restrictions on system setup and operation in terms of personnel, time, financial local requirements, business customs, tax systems, user characteristics, and prerequisites from the government which differ from region to region, and in this context GSCM service averts risks faced by customer and allows for the use of a system which can be easily adapted to business environments which undergo major changes.

From this Asia's global city as a start, we have expanded and provided GSCM service since 1996 by the support framework team consisting of staff of various nationalities working from a number of locations. There are consultants based in many locations, including Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Singapore, Bangkok, Calcutta, Hanoi, and Manila.
The make-up of the team generates collaboration, such as cooperation between Japanese staff, who ascertain the wishes of the highly demanding clients, and national staff, who provide professional knowledge based solutions in a number of different languages, including Japanese, Chinese, English, Tagalog, Thai, Vietnamese and Hindi.
