Tokyo, December 26, 2024 – Nomura Research Institute, Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, President & CEO Kaga Yanagisawa, “NRI”), a leading provider of consulting services and system solutions, announced that it has been selected as a constituent of the “World Index” of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for the seventh consecutive year as of December 13, 2024. The DJSI World is recognized as one of the world’s premier ESG investment benchmarks. In addition, NRI has also been included in the “DJSI Asia Pacific Index”, the Asia-Pacific regional version of the index, for the ninth consecutive year. This recognition underscores NRI’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and its leadership in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices on a global and regional scale.

The DJSI is a globally recognized sustainability-related stock price index published annually by S&P Dow Jones Indices LLC in the United States. It evaluates corporate sustainability across environmental, social, and governance/economic dimensions. In 2024, 321 companies out of approximately 3,500 top-ranking global companies were selected for inclusion in the DJSI World, including 37 Japanese companies. Notably, in the “IT Services & Internet Software Services” sector, to which NRI belongs, only five companies worldwide (including two from Japan) were selected.

This year, as in previous years, NRI received high scores in areas such as “Information Security/Cybersecurity & System Availability”, “Business Ethics”, and “Climate Strategy.” Additionally, NRI achieved improved scores in categories like “Human Capital Management”, “Labor Practices”, and “Risk & Crisis Management”, reflecting the company's proactive efforts in these areas during FY2024.
