Tokyo, February 24, 2026 - Nomura Research Institute, Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan, Chairman, President and CEO: Kaga Yanagisawa, “NRI”) announced that it has enhanced its implementation support services for the AI technology “Claude,” provided by Anthropic PBC (“Anthropic”), for the Japanese market beginning in January 2026.
At the same time, NRI has deployed the enterprise plan, “Claude for Enterprise,”1 internally to accelerate the development of technical expertise in Claude solutions, further expanding its partnership2 with Anthropic Japan.
Background to the Expansion of the Partnership
Amid the rapid advancement and widespread adoption of generative AI, AI agents, now entering full-scale commercial deployment, are beginning to transform corporate operations. In the enterprise domain, the use of AI to automate complex business processes and support advanced decision-making is expanding rapidly, making the development of skilled professionals in this field an urgent priority. At the same time, there is a growing need to establish implementation support frameworks tailored to the Japanese market’s unique linguistic characteristics, security requirements, and regulatory standards.
NRI has actively promoted the adoption of Claude and has delivered Claude-based solutions to multiple Japanese enterprises. In November 2025, NRI was selected as Japan’s first Anthropic-authorized reseller for Amazon Bedrock. Building on this foundation, the current initiative aims to further enhance implementation support structures for the Japanese market while strengthening NRI’s own AI technological capabilities.
Establishing Implementation Support Services Optimized for Japanese Enterprises
NRI will establish and progressively expand a suite of support services tailored to enable Japanese enterprises to smoothly adopt and utilize Claude. Specifically, NRI will broaden its support scope from the provision of Claude (LLM) and related technical assistance to include “Claude Code”3 and enterprise products. These services will encompass business utilization consulting, system design and implementation, as well as ongoing operational support.
In addition, NRI will conduct practical validation of the desktop AI agent “Claude Cowork”4, which Anthropic currently offers as a research preview, within its internal enterprise environment. Insights gained through this hands-on evaluation will be shared with Anthropic Japan to help create a secure and reliable environment in which Japanese enterprises can confidently adopt and leverage the technology.
Expanding Enterprise-Wide Claude Deployment and Engineer Development
NRI will accelerate the company-wide deployment of Claude for Enterprise, provided by Anthropic, through the Amazon Web Services environment within its own organization. This initiative will expand the use of Claude across the full spectrum of development activities, including system design, development, and testing, as well as across broader business domains such as consulting and system development. Through these efforts, NRI aims to enhance productivity, elevate employees’ AI utilization skills, and systematically accumulate practical know-how.
With the expansion of its partnership with Anthropic Japan, NRI will further strengthen its end-to-end service capabilities, leveraging its deep industry expertise, consulting strength, extensive knowledge of established enterprise systems, and advanced AI implementation capabilities. NRI will continue to enhance its integrated delivery model, providing seamless support from consulting and system development to maintenance and operations, in order to address the diverse and evolving needs of enterprise clients utilizing Anthropic’s services.
