New York, October 6, 2026 – Nomura Research Institute, Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President & CEO Kaga Yanagisawa, “NRI”) today announced that it ranked No. 10 in the 2026 IDC FinTech Rankings. We believe this ranking underscores the company’s continued growth in financial services technology and the expansion of its global financial services business.

"To us, this ranking reflects the progress NRI is making across several areas of financial services technology," said Noriyuki Takeda, Senior Managing Director at NRI. "We are expanding AI deployment inside regulated environments, modernizing critical post-trade systems, and exploring the infrastructure financial markets will rely on in the years ahead. At the same time, we are focused on making those capabilities useful to clients now.”

In North America, I-STAR/GX, NRI’s solution supporting back-office operations for foreign currency and foreign securities transactions, received the Best Cutting-Edge Solution award at the FTF News Technology Innovation Awards 2025.
In Australia, AUSIEX, an NRI Group company, implemented I-STAR/GV, NRI’s wholesale securities back-office solution developed in Japan, and began providing services on the platform. This marked a further step in expanding NRI’s securities back-office solutions internationally.
NRI also made FIIG Holdings Limited, a provider of platform services for bond trade management and portfolio management, a wholly owned subsidiary, further strengthening its business foundation.

Through these initiatives, NRI has strengthened the foundation for its global business operations and will continue to pursue further growth in North America and Australia.

Financial institutions are navigating a growing set of pressures, from macroeconomic and market shifts to evolving regulation, security risks and governance requirements. NRI will continue to stand alongside its clients as a trusted partner, helping them navigate this complexity, strengthen their competitiveness and prepare for what comes next. By harnessing advanced technologies such as AI and blockchain, NRI will support clients in driving business growth and creating lasting value, while working together to address societal challenges and shape new opportunities for the future.
