Tokyo, February 25, 2026 – Nomura Research Institute, Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President & CEO Kaga Yanagisawa, “NRI”) has been selected for a second time following last year as one of the top 1% of companies in the “IT Services” industry in “S&P’s The Sustainability Yearbook – 2026 Rankings”, an ESG rating conducted by the global research and rating firm S&P Global1.

About the “S&P The Sustainability Yearbook – 2026 Rankings”

Each year, S&P Global assesses major global companies on three key aspects of sustainability: economic, environmental, and social. Companies with particularly high ratings within 59 industry categories are selected and ranked in “Top 1%”, “Top 5%”, and “Top 10%” tiers. The results are published in The Sustainability Yearbook, an annual global benchmark for corporate sustainability.

For the 2026 rankings, a total of 9,200 major companies worldwide were evaluated. Among them, 848 companies with the highest scores in their respective industries were included and recognized in The Sustainability Yearbook.
Within the “IT Services” industry, only two companies including NRI were selected in the distinguished Top 1% category.

NRI’s Evaluation

As it was last year, NRI was highly rated in key areas such as “Human Capital Management”, “Information Security”, and “Climate Strategy”, and it also received high marks for creating a more sophisticated governance framework, which was done by establishing a “Sustainability Governance Committee” composed entirely of company directors.
Furthermore, NRI has also been included in S&P Global's ESG investment stock indices, the “Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index” and the “Dow Jones Best-in-Class Asia Pacific Index”2.

Under our corporate philosophy, “Dream up the future”, the NRI Group remains committed to working alongside its various stakeholders to create new value and contribute to building a sustainable future society.
